Every phone camera says yes to everything. Latent says no three times, and that's the whole point.
Per roll
36 frames
A counter tells you what's left and nothing brings a frame back. When the roll runs out, it runs out. Make the frames count.
In the finder
The scene, never the shot
No live filter, no retake, no gallery to second-guess. The film's character is applied when the roll develops, not before.

Finish a roll and it goes dark for two days. Load another and keep shooting. The wait is the feature.

No progress bar to game, no peeking. And it all happens on your phone, not on a server: your photos are never uploaded anywhere. While one roll develops you can load another and keep shooting. Keepers save at full resolution to a Latent album in your Photos.
The film
Each stock is a real emulation recipe — tone curve, channel mix, grain, vignette, halation — not a filter you drag over a photo. Tap a stock to preview it on a sample scan, the way you'd judge the photos on the side of a film box.

Dark shutter
Press the shutter and the screen goes dark, not bright. Film doesn't flash you.
Film advance
700 milliseconds between frames while the film advances. There is no burst mode.
Real emulation
Every stock compiles to 3D LUTs and renders on the GPU at develop time. Grain is deterministic per frame. Your photo always looks like your photo.
Sound & touch
A recorded mechanical shutter and a film-advance tick in your palm. Both optional.
Contact sheets
Rolls come back as numbered contact sheets, the way film comes back from the lab.

Developed frames save straight to a Latent album in your Photos. Full resolution, look baked in.

Latent has no accounts, no profiles, and no servers. Your rolls, your frames, your settings: all of it lives on your device and nowhere else.
