Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 July 2026
Latent is a film-camera app. This policy explains what data the app
handles. It is a good-faith draft for review and hosting, not legal
advice.
The short version
Latent stores your photos and app data on your device.
We do not run servers, we do not have accounts, and we do not collect,
sell, or share your personal data. We use no analytics or advertising
SDKs.
What data the app handles
- Photos you take. Frames you shoot and the developed
positives are stored locally on your device. If you enable “Save to
Photos,” developed rolls are written to your system photo library.
Latent never uploads your photos anywhere.
- App data. Your rolls, film-stock selection, credits,
and settings are stored locally on the device only.
- Camera. Used solely to take photos inside the app.
The camera feed is not recorded or transmitted.
- Notifications. If you allow them, the app schedules a
local notification to tell you when a roll has finished developing.
These are generated on your device; no notification service receives
your data.
Purchases
In-app purchases and the Latent Unlimited subscription are processed by
the app store you installed Latent from
(Apple App Store or Google Play) and by
RevenueCat, Inc., our purchase-infrastructure provider.
- The app store handles all payment information. We never see your card
details.
- RevenueCat processes purchase and subscription events to validate
receipts and manage entitlements. To do this it assigns an
anonymous app-user identifier and receives purchase
metadata (product purchased, transaction and renewal status). This
identifier is not linked to your name, email, or contacts. See
RevenueCat's privacy
policy, Apple's
privacy policy, and
Google's privacy
policy.
What we do NOT collect
- No account, name, email, or phone number.
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
- No location data.
- No sale or sharing of personal data with third parties for their own
use.
Data retention and deletion
App data and photos live on your device. Deleting the app removes its
local data. Photos you saved to your system photo library remain there
until you delete them. Manage or cancel subscriptions through your app
store: on Apple devices in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions, on
Android in the Google Play Store under Subscriptions.
Children
Latent is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly
collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date will change
accordingly.
